# CiteStamp > CiteStamp is a public citation graph of typed claims about scholarly works. Every claim carries a tier: "asserted" means a named researcher signed it under their ORCID iD onto an append-only public log; "inferred" means a machine sweep of open scholarly metadata produced it. The inferred tier is millions of edges (sweeps of SSRN and Zenodo metadata); the asserted tier is young and small — today its entries are entirely the founder's own disclosed claims about his own papers. The two tiers are never blended, and the service issues no verdicts about which claims are correct — it records who stands behind each one. Key facts: - Claims are typed: cites, supports, refutes, extends, uses_method, uses_data, background. - Claims connect works (DOIs and similar public identifiers) — never people or institutions. - The signed log is CC0, chained, and publicly mirrored at https://github.com/citestamp/op-log. - No full text, abstracts, or personal data are stored — only links between public identifiers. - Operated by 3Rivers Enterprises LLC. ICSAC (icsacinstitute.org) shares a founder and receives no special treatment in the data. ## Pages - [Home + live ask](https://citestamp.com/): query the graph about any DOI, no account - [How it works](https://citestamp.com/how-it-works): signing, claiming, retraction - [For researchers](https://citestamp.com/for-researchers): check references before submitting; claim your paper with ORCID - [For AI agents](https://citestamp.com/for-ai): MCP server + REST grounding API - [For publishers & preprint servers](https://citestamp.com/for-publishers): in-browser bibliography screening today; bulk screening API in pilot - [Write](https://citestamp.com/write): in-editor citation picker — search OpenAlex while typing, insert formatted citations, stage typed claims locally (embeddable at https://citestamp.com/picker.js) - [Check](https://citestamp.com/check): citation health — paste a bibliography, each reference checked in-browser for whether it resolves to a real work, has recorded refutations, or is marked retracted (embeddable at https://citestamp.com/check.js) - [Word](https://citestamp.com/word): Microsoft Word add-in — search OpenAlex and check a bibliography free and unlimited; writing the citation at your cursor and the references list into the document is part of Pro; sideload the Office.js add-in from https://citestamp.com/word/manifest.xml - [Your work](https://citestamp.com/mywork): enter your ORCID iD to list your own published works and see which are signed under your name on CiteStamp; claim the rest (works fetched client-direct from ORCID, status from https://citestamp.com/api/v1/claimed, embeddable at https://citestamp.com/cite.js) - [Pricing](https://citestamp.com/pricing): the health check is free, unlimited, no account, and free inside every panel; the web picker and read/lookup are free too.
